Team Franjic has informed Canadian Boxiana that Canadian (NCC) super middleweight champion Steve Franjic (11-0-1, 6KO) of Orangeville, Ontario, will be meeting fellow Canadian prospect Andrew Gardiner (10-1-0, 6KO) of Winnipeg/Ottawa in a ten round light heavyweight contest on June 13 in Montreal. Both men are coming off impressive performances. In a gutsy performance at Montreal’s Bell Centre in early 2014, Gardiner went ten grueling rounds with world title contender Eleider Alvarez, dropping a decision. At the end of 2013, in another stellar contest, Franjic defeated tough-as-nails Gary Kopas for the vacant Canadian super middleweight title. According to Boxrec.com, Gardiner and Franjic are Canada’s #3 and #4 light heavyweights, respectively, with only world champion Adonis Stevenson and former champ Jean Pascal coming in ahead of them.
